Uh, hate to break this, but if you're talking about the Motorola 3-watt voice recognition phone, you're flat outta luck with the dealers. They don't stock the replacement booster, and mixing and matching handsets and boosters doesn't work due to firmware differences between model years. Also, I've heard they no longer even offer depot level repair. Don't bother approaching Motorola - they can't deal with you direct due to the OEM agreement covering the phone with BMW NA. Idiotic.

Stan C. and I have become experts in this area, and I've gone thru at least three boosters from e-Bay before finding one that works. Stan's still looking for a compatible handset, and my VR feature started blowing the phone fuse until I disconnected it from the analog 3-watt portion of the transceiver.

One dumb thing BMW and Motorola do is spec that lousy OEM phone. Overpriced piece of junk that neither company stands behind.

Let us know if the dealer can fix it.
