If anyone doesn't understand the meaning of "bucket seat", they haven't sat in the rear seats of an 8. I have actually sat back there and let someone else drive my car (yeah, foolish, ...I am). And you know what, it's decently comfortable (I'm 5'8" and thin), and the feeling is very strange...the seat literally sucks you down as you sit in it. I don't recommend it if you get car sick, but on occasional hiking trips we've shoved four adults in the bimmer and cruised up to the mountains (me driving, of course). So, the verdict for all time is (as we've seen this thread before):

All E-31's have back seats, and

Fold down seats started in '93
