: Jim Conforti:

: I have a 1995 and would love to install your chip, but am a little nervous about removing and shipping my ECM.

Are they welded-in or just plain socket chips ?

To remove the ECU is very simple but the chip can be tricky if it is welded-in. I'd be nervous to send it by mail too. If you mail it, insure for about 2,000USD so if they loose it you could buy a new one plus a upgraded chip and still have money left to buy a new set of tires/wheels, whatever.
Is there a chip for a 96 and up 840Ci too ?
