#25 on the list for M3... (archive)

... I have time before I need to get rid of it.

Since my deposit was so (relatively) late (thus the #25), I will have the opportunity to drive the M3 before I commit to buying. If I don't like it, I will just hang onto my 8 and add the M3 deposit to the deposit I already have on the 2002/3 M Coupe (I was actually first in line for that one).

I haven't had time to fix the sunroof or have the seat cables reconnected (rear motor of the driver's side seat cushion). Kind of makes it difficult to sell my car as a "premium" example. At least my car has low miles.

There have been only a handful of people who have shown interest in the Eurospec performance and goodies (3948 lbs. WET weight, additional ~30hp, real driving lights, smoked turning lenses, smoked sidemarkers, rear sun shade, etc).

A lot of the calls I get are simply interested in the low mileage. I tell everyone that calls to go drive a US-version of the car... I make sure they know that they could save a lot of money by settling for a US model. I drove a friends '92 US E31... I was convinced that the difference is enough to merit the additional price of my car... stock for stock, I had no problem taking his 850 by a full car (not bumper to bumper, but rather a FULL car length) from stop to 80 mph. Now that I've added the TMS chips and Panel Filters, I have consigned myself to only racing Porsches, C5 Vettes, S4's, and sadly enough, V8 F-bodies.

Well, that might have been a little lengthy, but that's what gives. The car is for sale, but until the first E46 M3 rolls off the Garching line (which, by the way, is where my E31 was built... I will send you some scans of the placard if you want), I won't have my heart in selling the 8.
