Records are worth a ton! I agree that most 850s were maintained like Mustangs. Same goes for M5 and M6, even most M3 cars. WHY?

Alot of folks seem to buy a BMW Coupe simply for status. Never imagining that these cars require a bit more TLC than a Ford, they get the same Jiffy Lube Mom's Taurus gets, every 5 k. IF That. I laugh when I see the "Next oil service due" Jiffy Lube Sticker in the corner of a Bimmer windshield. I love to see a service booklet with six blanks in it, and two majors missed. Even better, no stamps at all.

THESE CARS ARE TOO DAMN NICE FOR JOHN Q. MIDLIFE.

Find a one-owner Bimmer WITH FULL RECORDS. Not to do so is foolish. I will buy one owner cars before new ones ANY DAY. The savings are great if you are patient. I also peek inside the oil cap on the V12 cars, looking for buildup of crud. YOU WOULD BE AMAZED HOW MANY OF THESE CARS HAVE THIRTY K AND THE ORIGINAL OIL FILTERS!!!!! Whew!
