8's are always available (depending on where you live). The problem is the one as stated in previous posts (see "95/5" posts below), that roughly 95% of 8's were not well taken care of. So, finding an 8 series is as simple as looking in the classified ads or on the internet, the challenge is finding one of the 5% that's in really good shape. As far as 5-6 years from now, IMHO you'll have just as much availability as the market appears to be stable. Also, my $0.02 worth - buy an 850, and don't try to do any engine retro-fits - if that's what you want, buy a later model (It will cost less to buy a '96 or '97 than trying to upgrade the engine in a '91 or '92).

I can't help regarding the cost of the CSi kit, maybe LEZ can help as he has installed the CSi trim on his 840.

Anyway, don't get discouraged, when you're ready to buy one, a little bit of leg work will get you the car of your dreams.

: Hey, I was wondering about the availability of the 8 series. I really want to get one but probably will have to wait for maybe like 5 or 6 years. How easy do you think it will be to get an 8 at that time? Im thinking more ont he lines of an 840. Also I was wondering how much would it cost to add a kit to the 840 so it resembles the Csi? Also how much is it to retrofit an 850 with a newer v12 engine.
