OK I am in at last (more) (archive)

After blowing out the two cars I considered earlier (see my post below) I thought I would have to wait a while. However, this one came up almost immediately.

So, did the deal today on a 1993 850Ci auto. Brilliant Red / white ish leather (do they call that Parchment?).

It started life as a demonstrator for 6 months then only one private owner till now. 73k miles with full main dealer history and is having Inspection I next week so I will have a full set of green worry lights ;-)

Interior is immaculate, exterior is the same other than minor stone damage to the front apron. Everything is present and everything works. Longest I have ever spent inspecting a car because there are so many electrical accessories to check out!!

The motor is......well big! I have spent several years now around the M50 straight six engines in my E34 and E36 and the E31 is daunting.

The only thing eating at me is the state of the headers. Old Cosmolene coating I believe. I will have to search the archives for the best clean up solution.

I pick the car up end of next week and look forward to joining you all on this board. Is there anyone else out there posting from the UK?
