850 - Is it a value? (archive)

I must admit, the 850 is maybe the finest looking car ever made - reminds me of a Ferrari 456 GT. It also has terrific power. Here in SoCal, they can be had for as cheap as $15k. I found a great black on black '91 for $17k and would buy it but for the fact that serious mechanical fixes may cost more than the car itself!

Does anyone sell a comprehensive warranty on early cars? I would pay $5k for a 3 year 25k mile warranty on what is perhaps the ultimate, ultimate driving machine. Seems like there's a good business opportunity for a warranty company if nobody is doing this.
