I'm one of the lucky/unlucky EDC equiped 850's. As I'm just about to hit 80K miles, this question is on my mind as well. I do like the ability of being able to change the suspension character, however there is not a whole lot of difference between Sport and Komfort modes. I use Komfort on city streets and highways, and I use Sport for twisty roads in the mountains.

From the input I've gleaned from here and Paul Brown's mailing list, EDC replacement will run about $3000 (either OEM or AC Schnitzer) and installing non-EDC parts will run around $1000. I am fairly sure that you can replace the EDC with Bilsteins/Koni's on your '91. I understand that you need to cross-wire the EDC switch in some manner (?) so as not to confuse the electronics that the EDC struts are not in the circuit. Perhaps someone who has done this can post a procedure?
