Double lock sets the alarm. On my remote it's a separate button but if you are using the key, a 45 degree turn to the right will lock the doors, a further 45 degrees sets the alarm. Holding that final position will also close all the windows and the sunroof (if they were open).

Once the car is 'double locked' you'll get the LED on the console lit, if you have the code set you'll also get a solid red diode in the code button, the radio security led is on when the ignition is off and if you have the auto ventilation on that will light up a fourth LED. All in all, lots of red lights glowing and flashing and hopefully sending the would-be perp on to a less well armed target.

: : For starters, it's an option so you may not have the Ventilation feature on your car. If you push the 'timer' button and see "Ventilation off" then you've got it - if you don't have the option, pushing the timer switch gives you a count-up timer.

: : The ventilation timer can be set to switch the fan on while the car is unattended. It will only function if the temp is over 60 degrees F. You can set two start times and the fan will come on and run for 30 minutes at the set times and then shut itself off. Set the on time(s) by pushing the timer button, entering the desired start time using the digit buttons and the set/res buttons (just as you'd set the speed alert). When the system is 'armed' a small asterisk appears beside the time you've set. When you leave the car in the 'armed' position a light comes on in the timer button (just as it does for the security code function).

: : When you leave the car double locked with the security code activated & the ventilation timer armed you end up with four LED's glowing brightly in the cockpit - maybe all those red lights help to deter car thieves. :-)
