: The recent message inquiring about the age of us owners reminded me of an article in Viale Ciro Menotti from back when I was driving a Maserati Biturbo. There was a survey asking various questions about whether their Maserati was the daily driver, and if not, what was. I have had a '91 850 for about three years now, but in the mid '80's, I had a Biturbo. I don't recall the answers exactly, but I remember the top two answers for Maserati owners being something like BMW and Mercedes. I wonder if the answers have changed with the times. Maybe SUV or econobox? So, what do you guys have as beaters? Answer to the age question, 39. [Prior to the 850, I had a 635. Same comments as most, the 850 is finer, but the 635 was more flickable in the twisty bits.]

I use it to commute every day about 15-20 miles each way. I have a '93 850ci with currently about 97K on it. It runs great right now. I used to drive a 944s for about 7 years. Before that I had a crx si (not fully autocrossed - but also fun). Before that I had a used 320i - so I've sort of come full circle. Age 36.
