It is a legal fact that if your paint is damaged from any number of things, someone vandalizing it with a key or spraying something on it that damages the finish or a truck driving by leaking chemicals in the air which you drive into or sand-storms etc. etc. These are all legitimate and legal reasons to use the protection and resources of your auto insurance. From that standpoint these people are doing you a favor of reminding you of something you either didn't know or had forgotten or overlooked somehow.

However, it they were obviously suggesting that you lie somehow or create the damage yourself and then turn it in, well...the answer is obvious.
If it is the latter suggestion, I would be concerned about having such people be in my private space in the world for any reason. Especially to do some work for me.

But, if they are legitimately reminding you of legal and proper insurance protection to which you are entitled than they are doing you a favor.
