: Can anyone tell me how to remove the fuel filler flap on a 94 840? The spring is not working and I want to see if I can replace it.

: Thanks.

You basically need two parts--the plastic hinge and the spring. Both cost $10-15 as I recall. The hinge has a clip that slides into the fuel door and another clip that slides on a bracket welded to the body. Getting the old one off without damage to paintwork is difficult, and I ended up carefully cutting the old hinge apart on the car and then removing the respective pieces. Assemble the hinge onto the fuel door with the spring attached (make note of how the old one was assembled before destroying it)and clip it on the body. Go slowly and you'll have no trouble.
