: : : NO, you won't have a problem like neither will work, because if the new ones doesn't work, you can always reprogram an old one. They are must be identical since the alarm system accept only one type. What is your production date ?
: 1/95 was a change of alarm, but the older alarm should accept the new remote and vice versa. Before 93 there was an infra and that is totally different ! Check your rear view mirror for an infra !
: BTW : I'm talking about US spec cars, I don't know if your's are different or not.

It is infrared. I tried to initialise the remote last night according to the manual but no luck. Could not even get the existing working remote to re initialise according to the manual.

Can't recall the production date of the car, it was registered as a main dealer demonstrator in October 1993 so I guess the build date was not much before.

Any ideas?

Thanks.
