As been reported before on the board, there is a 45-minute documentary on the making of the 850i. Some of you already have this tape already. It is indeed fun to watch. The synopsis from the tape description is as follows:
From concept to CAD model to simulated road test to building of the prototype to be unveiled at an unpostponable press launch - this is the story of how a new car, the BMW 850i, was developed and built, its flaws corrected, its nonworking or unfinished components faked, its appearance camouflaged to foil competitors....

Description: Musical interlude of the 850i in Italy (Florence)

This TV commercial was believe to be broadcasted throughout Europe as a high-energy introduction of the 850i. The silver exterior/interior 850i is driven around the streets of Florence and the surrounding countryside. Heavy symbolism about old and new, the Renaissance, etc. This commercial was talked about in the German TV documentary but failed to show the finished product! I have streamed the commercial into a MPEG file...it's 26 megs and has a straggling recording line at the top of the film that might be annoying to some. It can be read with either Windows Media Player or Real Player. E-mail me if you're interested in seeing the commercial.
