Lez......from what I've heard, the first run of the new Range Rovers will be powered by BMW engines. Also, it is my understanding that BMW is going to finish development of the new RR....which is great. With the BMW V8 or V12 powerplants, four-wheel independent suspension, new "aluminum-intensive" chassis, new styling, etc......the new RR will be the king of all SUVs! I was going to trade my '98 in for an '00 a couple months ago........prompted by its theft from JFK airport and recovery 500 miles later......but decided to wait and get the new style RR as soon as it is released.

: : Until you own a Range Rover you have no idea of fuel economy at all !
: My wife has a 1996 4.0SE and does about 9.5-12.5mpg average. And it's my wife driving not mine ! My 840Ci does 18mpg and I drive much faster and accelerates more aggressivly. Also my 840Ci weights a little less about 600lbs less but still the less then 10mpg is horror !
: BTW : The '96 Range Rover 4.0SE is for sale, has 44k miles , sliver with grey leather, perfect condition. Price : $28,500

: Land Rover doesn't belong to BMW anymore so it has to go. FOrd owns Land Rover and undecided about the new modell !?!?
