I have a problem with my trans. My options are to get mine rebuilt for around 1500-2000, or do what my mechanic is saying and buy a used one from a salvage yard for around 2500 installed. The used one is off a 91 which is the year of my car, and has around 70k miles supposedly. Wouldn't it be better just to get mine rebuilt and have a 12 month 12k mile warranty? The problem is that shops that rebuild transmissions sometimes don't know what they are doing. Does anybody have an opinion?
