: I assume this car is new to you, and this is not something that has happened over a period of time with a car you've owned for awhile. I have heard that one of the "fixes" for the nickasil block problem was, when engine damage had not occurred, to "detune" the engine to reduce operating temperatures and thus degradation from that nasty "high-sulfer" fuel. All someone else's fault, right? "Roundel" has published several letters over the past couple of years re this. People complaining that they didn't get a new short block; instead they got a car with no performance. If I'm not mistaken a new chip was part of the deal. Perhaps someone else can shed more light on this, but that may be your problem.I thought the attempted fix for the Nikasil issue was to RAISE the engine temperature to burn off the damaging sulphur.
Could it just be the adaptive transmission has not adapted to your style of driving yet? How does it go with the transmission in sport mode? Are you sure the kickdown is working properly?
Sorry, more questions than answers ;-(
