My 2000 540iA is electronically limited to 155 mph. The cars delivered w/o Z rated tires (eg non Sport 540's) have lower speed limiters.

The aftermarket chips relieve the speed limiters in most cases.

I'm looking for a 850 CSI or 850 6 sp. Anyone interested?

Tks,

John

>: : I read it somewhere before the 8 series around 88 the US gov. and BMW agreed to limit the speed of the BMW cars designed for US. at 138mph.
: I belive even the M3 is limited !!!
: All the aftermarket chips are removing the limit and you are free to go. I'd go to the conforti chips as proven to be #1 !!! Also not a bad prices, around 250USD/chip !!!
