Gear Shift indicator (archive)

The gear shift indicator adjacent the gear shift leaver on my 91 850 (auto) does not work.
It is stuck on the N . There appears to be a part missing which connects between the gear shift leaver and the indicator mech.There is a gog on the indicator mech which drives the indicator but there is no connection between this cog and the gear leaver (and there should be) The repair manual I have does not show that amount of detail. Can someone advise what the missing part is and are they still available. Furthermore where can I get the parts CD people often refer to.
