I also find it interesting that BMW doesn't seem to have any problems with their motorcycles. They use Nikasil in those engines....

The bike engines ran at a much higher temperature which burn't off the sulphur before it could cause a problem. This is why BMW tried to solve the problem by increasing the operating temperature (by chip and thermostat changes) of the V8 when the problem first arose.
