gulf spec 850 csi (archive)

I am in Dubai and looking to buy a 93 Gulf spec 850 csi. Question is is it a "real" CSI or were CIs rebadged as csi's for the gulf. Big query is that it is auto which I was given to understand means it is not a CSI. It is listed as a CSI in the documentation and has the M badge on the engine, were csis available as auto in the gulf?
