Look at:

First three letters of vehicles VIN should be "WBS", which signify BMW Motorsport. If it does not have these, it is not an 850CSi. Get the complete VIN and have a local BMW dealer get a printout from the factory on the car's particulars.

Are the rectangular portions of the intake manifolds painted black, with the individual runner being natural metal color? All regular 850's intake manifold are just metal, not painted.

It is believed that NO 850CSi was ever supplied with an automatic transmission. Be very careful to verify the authenticity of this car.
