Here's what I understand:

1) With aftermarket chips, you need to run high octane (as least that's what's in the Dinan installation manual).

2) The M70's have no knock sensor, so if you do go into knock conditions, you'll blow out valves, etc.

3) The best performance is with higher octane (why else would racing cars and airplanes use high octane).

4) Higher octane burns cleaner and hotter (hence the question of engine temp & fuel quality).

5) I've never heard that high octane can damage an engine, but I have heard the opposite (low octane damage/fouling).

I'm curious to hear everyone's thoughts, wisdom, etc.
