PMB on E31 special E-mailing group just sent out a re-run of an article on the 850 from a Road and Track author in Germany driving the original and then driving the Csi later. I can't say that I agree with his opinion of the big difference between the two cars as I have driven both, but otherwise it was a great article. I would re-publish it here but I think perhaps you Stan or someone else who knows Paul Michael Brown and has been a long time member should be the one to do that as I am new on the block.

I would love to read published articles from various auto magazines (others?) about the 8 series. Has anyone got a collection? Know how to assemble a list of published articles? Know how to get copies?


There are always copies of Road & Track or Car & Driver articles on e-bay. Just search under "BWM 850i" (not much under -ci or -csi). Occasionally something really nice comes along, like a month ago there was a copy of the internal US sales and marketing book for the 850's, from BMW (hardcover). Last I saw of it, it was going for over $80. I thought about it, but missed my chance.
