Loren/Kurt.
Hey guys, I'm all for optimism, but (no insult intended) did you really think that you'd be in a 155 MPH class right out of the box? Larry's been doing this for a while, and he's just moving UP to the 125 MPH class. (See his posts about installing a 5 point harness.) I haven't read all the rules, but as first timer, and without any mods, your gonna be running in the 95-110 MPH class.

There's no denying that it would be a lot of fun, but I'll let my chicken feathers show here. If the 850 wasn't my daily driver, I'd sure begin to consider it. Perhaps I should get the Honda out of mothballs and go for it. However, if you've ever watched TV coverage of the event, there are steely eyed missile men at the wheel of some of those cars. Guys with enough money and balls to toss their Countach or Maranello 512 into the ditch and walk away smiling, AND be back the next year with a new one. Personally, mr. wallet barely lets me fill up with the ridiculously priced gas in the Bay Area. But, I'd love to hear more from Larry about the race (I'm assuming you're entered for Sept.).

Good idea though, I may consider participating as a course worker (where, after all, I started my racing career, many years ago. No shame in that.)

Best to all,
Stan C.
