My M70 does have 2 coils...one per bank. I have two new fuel filters boxes on my benchtop ready to be intalled. I had wanted to wait until I had run two full tanks of gas through with valve/injector cleaner. I will do that on Monday.
As far as the tran itself acting strangely, I can say no for sure. In fact, as part of my DIY tune up, I replaced the filter and added Mobil 1 Synthetic fluid, which made an immediate difference. However, I wish I had more confidence in my ability to read the dipstick. While I am rather embarassed to admit it, I have a tough time securing an accurate fluid level reading.
I'll follow up after the fuel filters are replaced.
Thanks again
Be safe boys,
Puff
There is a coil for each cylinder...
Uh, not on the M70. One per cylinder bank, controlled by it's respective Motronic 1.7.
That lag in power you're feeling is indeed the advance being dialed way back by the Motronic, but its to briefly drop power between shifts on the autobox, IIRC. Is your tranny or it's control unit (AGS) acting funny, lately?
