Think that's a little conservative. I've gotten pretty comfortable crusing in the car at 130 to Vegas or Palm Springs in the wee hours when no one is around, with spurts from there for fun. Try it... you'll be surprised. I've danced around 150 on some remote straights but chickened out for fear of law enforcement.

Not that I'd want to AVERAGE 155 in the race. My point was that without cage / fuel cell mods, you couldn't even consider it anyway.

You underestimate your car. Give it a whirl somewhere remote... up in Napa there are lots of places, no? Take a stock 850, chip it, exhaust, nice suspension, and you have a car that can get up to that speed and cruise. Hell, a stock 540 in the 150mph bracket averaged 149.23 ... You think your more sleeker 850 couldn't handle that?

You'd be surprised. These cars don't start breathing until after 90... you realize this once you cruise at 130 or so and feel comfortable enough to see what's on the radio...

Since you spend the previous days before the race inspecting and qualifying, if you're competent with your car and the speed, you can start outside the 110 class...

:)
