This is my first BMW and I am trying to resolve some problems myself. Does anyone know how to reset all the Service Indicator lights on a 1984 733i? I have read in some previous postings on shorting pins 7 to 19 on the service connector. Is this the same procedure for this vehicle? Where is the service connector or diagnostics socket located on this year/model vehicle? There is a connector near the top front center of the engine. Is this the correct connector? The socket is a shell or mushroom shape. The socket pins are not numbered. What is the pin location on the socket? All the local dealers indicate that a special tool is required! Is this true?
Thanks for any help.
