733i Service Light reset (archive)

What is the procedure for resetting all of the service light indicators on a 1984 733i? Where is the diagnostics or service connector located on this year/model vehicle? What is the pin-out location on the connector? I have seen a connector on the top center of the engine. The connector does not have pin numbers. Is this the correct connector for resetting the lights?
