Have my eye on a 1991 850i.. was wondering what the common problems are with this specific model and year. What can i expect for maintencance costs etc... I wouls appreciate all input...

A month ago, I took delivery on a familiar '91 850i with 62K miles. Am VERY pleased with it. Have a BMW dealership do a pre-purchase inspection on it, with cost e$timate for repair of any discovered glitches. Inspection probably cost less than $100.00. Well worth the $$. Then buy an after-market warranty on it, if it qualifies. Check the www under auto warranties. There are several out there. Mine cost $1629.oo for a 36/36 extended warranty which is comprehensive.
