When I had my cold start problem (same symptoms, but no EML light) it was the cam shaft position sensor. Have them check all engine sensors. Also, if you have to replace a DK motor, others have highly recommended doing both of them (yeah, more $$$ - ouch!) but then you'll be sure that they'll have the same lifetime on them.
