On mine, it was a combination of two things. First, there was a faulty DK motor gasket that needed replacement. It is a paper thin gasket that deteriorated and was causing a small vacuum leak. Second, the butterfly valve that it operates was not moving freely and needed cleaning. Apparently, the DK motor senses the amount of effort required to turn the valve and sends that back to the computer. If the resistance is too high, it causes a problem. Cleaning the butterfly valve action and replacing the gaskets made all of the DK related problems go away. The problem that I had was that if I gave it full throttle at over 70 MPH, and the resultant kick-down sent the RPM's to the redline (where the limiters would activate) it would turn on the EML light. As it turns out, what was happening was the DK motor on the left side butterfly would stick at wide open, and the computer would get upset. The guys at Bavarian Imports in Atlanta said that apparent DK failures are usually something else.
