Cold Air Induction for '95 840ci ? ? ? (archive)

Hey gang. . .

Considered chipping my replaced-block 4.0 but my mechanics talked me out of it. Not interested in taking my purring kitty and eeeking out a few more horses if the risk is getting into some of the trouble I have been hearing about (e.g., rough idle, unusually high fuel consumption, running hot, etc.).

Anyway, they recommend cold air induction. Anyone have this WITHOUT a chip? Is there a significant "feel" difference? Anyone know who does this in the NYC area and what it should cost?
