A custom armrest maker is starting the project to mount an E36 armrest in my 8-series, using a wood frame in the rear tray bolted to the center console. His sketches looked great! As he does the project, I'll try to take some pictures and make them available.

I test drove a 97 840 earlier this year and that had a factory arm rest fitted. The dealer said they had never seen one before. Unfortunately the car was the wrong colour and a little too pricey so I ended up with a 93 850 without arm rest ;-(
