I respect your decision so warm your car, it’s your car and you can of course do as you please.:) But I would question the fact the your engine reaches a better operating temperature from 5-7 min of idling that driving for 35 miles... I suspect that you have some other issues with your V12, if it's not running smooth after 30min of driving...

I too warm up the V12 in our '92 750iL and will continue to do so. This car runs very grumpily if I crank and go. Last week I drove it 35 miles this way and it still sounded off when I arrived at my destination. However that little 5-7 minute warm up, makes all the difference in the world. I disagree with the owners manual. I don't care about the small amount of gas wasted and don't buy into the carbonization theory. This car gets Amsoil lubricants and their fuel additive to 92 octane. I don't have plug fouling or valve train difficulties with this practice. Bimmer magazine this month dwells on this idea of whether BMW recommendations are really in the best interests of our cars. But you'll have to make up your own mind
