Hi Vance,
Yes, almost everyone when it comes to engine detailing. When I detail my engine I always try to cover all the electronic things I can with strong plastic sacks or sheeting holding it down with rubber bands or wire, in order to avoid needless soaking with water or cleaning fluid. Then I always make sure that I have planned to have the car sit for 2 hours or much longer with the hood up after the cleaning (on a warm day preferably) before I start it again and run it. These two measures help some but nothing makes the process foolproof :-) It also helps tremendously if you or whomever is doing the cleaning has an air compresser on hand with a high pressured nozzel that can be directed in tight areas so that most of the water or fluid can be forced out and dried by compressed air after the job is done and then letting it sit for several hours. This combined protection and drying helps tremendously.
Kurt
