Thanks for your help Stan. Oh yeah, how do you ground yourself and the ecu?
Danny C.
Danny,
All chips are real easy to install. Pull out the ECU's (inside black box, left side, back of engine compartment). The 850 has three computer boxes in there, but only the 1st two are your engine ECU's. There are two metal clips on each side of the ECU that need to be pried up (careful not to lose them). Pry open the cases, switch chips and put it back together.
CAUTION - static electricity is a no-no. Ground yourself and the ECU before starting the job.

Use OEM air filters. The testing done when Jim C. made his chips showed a DECREASE in HP when using aftermarket "high flow" air filters (search the archives). Everyone reports a noticable difference after chipping, whether Dinan or Conforti (but all agree that Jim's are the best).

'92 850iA (Dinan chips but will switch when mr. wallet says OK).
