Thermostat Removal Help (archive)

To all with knowledge,

Can anyone give me advice on replacing a thermostat for the 850. I bought a new one, but the bottom bolt on the thermostat housing is difficult to get to because of the fan that's in front of it. Does the fan have to be removed and if so is it an easy job. Also, is the small fan that's under the plastic, directly behind the grill, for the air condition or is it a cooling fan. If anyone could email or fax me the steps from the manual that would be terrific.

P.S. Did you fellows and our few ladies know that the singer
Prince has a bananna yellow 850i. It's a 1991 with some slammin' rims. He's had it in a few videos from the Diamond and Pearls album. The man has taste in cars too. To quote him "I've got a 12 cylinder that's built to last."
