18inch M Spoke Spare Wheel Problem E39 (archive)

Hi,

I just bought a 523 in England and the dealer fitted 18 x 8 M parallel spokes to the front and 18 x 9 M parallel spokes to the rear. The problem is that the spare (an 18 x 9 rear) doesn't fit in the spare wheel well. Any suggestions on what I should do ? Could I get a smaller spare and use it in emergencys at low speeds ? The dealer guy told me they had to fit different hub caps to get the wheels on so I don't know whether other wheels would fit now ?
