Thanks a lot for all the support. I do agree with you that it should work. I am now armed with a voltmeter and am ready for action. But seriously, now that I have opened everything up, the next time around is a peace of cake. I am thinking that if each of us specializes in one part, then we can all stay in the family when it comes to repairs.
I called the dealer. The actuator (the motor as they call it I guess) runs at $327.50. I am not sure how they come up with the 50 cents. I guess its a way of implying that some real cost calculation went into its price.
NOw I just have to find the time to do it considering that this is my main car and I can't just open it and leave it and the fact that I work 12 hour days.
I'll keep you guys posted on my progress which will probably be this next weekend.

In my infinite wisdom, I opended the light assembly and I got so intrigued that I opened eveything up to the motor that moves everything up and down and I then opended the motor itself, took the core out of the magnets
and started wondering at how good it looks. Now that I close up the motor, its not working!!!! DAMN!
Reminds me of when I used to open everything up as a child!
Now I am stuck with a big bill to replace the whole damn thing!!
I can't understand why it shouldn't work! Its a simple electric motor?! Is there a reset someplace that needs to be reset? I even checked the fuse and it looks ok!
When will I learn my lesson?!
