I have a six-speed, but I am not sure of what you meant in your post. Do you mean the car bucks back and forth as you are accelerating in 1st? If it bucks (back and forth like a bucking horse) you may have a vacuum leak or an intake leak (just repaired my son's car that was doing this in 1st and it ended up being a torn intake boot right in front of the throttle bodie (which in essence was a vacuum problem since some of the vaccum was provided by the boot). I would definately check for a vacuum leak, and perhaps a timing problem (which since our cars are mostly electronic, could be a bad distributor, cable or plug).Jim S.
