I just put a set of Bridgestone RE730s 245/50x16 on my 94 840 Ci. They work just fine. No wheel space problems or anything else. In my case I wanted a slightly larger tire diameter to correct for odometer error. This is probably the case for you to as most odometer/speedometers are slightly optimistic ( i.e. read higher than actual).
