somebody on this board from Canada said the 95+ 840 or 850 came with a full CSI kit. Maybe BMW wanted to sell those left over parts from the CSI (production halted in 1996) maybe just the BMW Canada has better taste and more free-play in the rules... In the US it is hard to change anything on a imported car. Aston Martin had a problem with it, when they federalized the DB7 the car had no foglights on it. The DOT and EPA said a go to the car and they started import them. The first few models were identical, but soon after they had a few cars coming in with a factory fog-lights. Since this foglight wasn't documented in the papers, the goverment banned those. The only way to get the foglight is ask for a special modification which cost a few thousand USD, in this case it was 2,500USD, so thr total price for the foglight was 3k USD. Stupid enough ? I think so... Anyway whoever buys an Aston Martin for 150k they don't get very upset about the 3k USD upgrade. For me it is easy to solve, buy a car , order a parts from england and install it yourself. you could save around 2,600USD ...
