EML code "1234" - Speedometer "A" Signal

'92 850i, 6-speed, 100,500 miles. Recently had main Fuel pump 1 fail and replaced simultaneously with both batteries. Previously had to "limp home" on passenger bank. Car ran fine for a week after r&r above. Ventured into some rainy weather, parked for 2 hrs. & upon restart had to limp home, AGAIN! This time the pass. bank is running OK and the fuel pump appears to be OK as evidenced by fuelish smell at tail pipe for driver bank and reduced idle speed when pulling the drivers coil wire. Tried to replace drivers bank plugs for fouling reasons, but did not solve problem. What is associated fix for this code? Where is the pulse generator sensor located & is there a test for it? It seems that the fuel delivery to the injectors is not getting the message or DK is bad?!
