I know it is me again, everybody else is sleeping and I'm the only one here typing, but I found an interesting alarm related issue on the E36 board...

the guy said something about punching a code into the OBC so the car will ask for this every time and will not start until the right code is typed.

that is what he wrote :
"if you set OBC code, then you start the car without entering the code, your car won't start and OEM alarm will go off"

since our car is more sophisticated I assume we have this option as well. I have never used it and never knew it is existed. Do you know how to do this in the OBC ? I'll go out and check my car right now with a manual as a help, but over the years I have browsed the manual and never saw a coded alarm operated by the OBC..
interesting, maybe it is worth more then a factory alarm...

This is descibed in my '91 850 owners manual.
