I have a '96 840ci....if you look at the picture on Ebay, you will see that it has cutouts for two switches on each side....The BMW parts are the same for all 8-series, so the pieces will fit every 8-series....however, if you have more than two switches on each side, you will have to cut a new switch hole in the main console piece...if you have less than two on each side, I would fill it with a factory dummy switch, which should be pretty cheap.....
All the other parts will fit with no alteration....
I didn't install it, but I watched, and it's a pretty straightforward installation....you should have the tool to remove your radio, and your computer just pops out.....the climate control is screwed to the console, so it comes out with the console piece.....
There is a couple of screws under the shift boot....all the switches just pop out.....on your black console there are two screws at the top, but the factory wood kit uses the mounting plate included with the kit to hide three screws, which get screwed in before you pop the computer back in.....the guy who installed it used a rachet screwdriver because of the angle.....
