I just put Dunlop SP 5000's (as opposed to 9000's) on my '91 850i. They are Z rated with a unique computer designed tread pattern. Check them out in the Tire Rack ads; they are pictured. They handle amazingly well. I haven't found their limits yet! Much better than my prior Continentals. Best of all, they're only a hundred bucks each.

Between the two tires you've narrowed your choice to, I'd give the nod to the Dunlop SP9000's for the reason that they are are much newer technology tire than the XGZT Michelins. Now if you were thinking about the Michelin Pilot Sports, it would be a no-brainer, and I'd recommend the Pilot Sports over either of the two you've chosen.
