I love my SP9000s. Good traction wet and dry. Good turn in. Good compromise: 75% performance/25% comfort. Quiet. Good wear. Look good.

Guys and gals...

Sunday night was hell night with the 850 as I was in the LA area visiting family. While driving on an overpass, I hit something nasty and the god-awful thud felt like I ran over a manhole cover with the lid missing. Still not sure what exactly it was as it was pretty dark ad traffic was pretty lousy in the area to go back. The tire popped the bead and is pretty shot as well as the Antera rim is pretty bent.

Fortunately, I already have a set of M-Parallels paid for and ready to have a new set of tires mounted. I have been trying to narrow it down to a good selection and have decided between the Michelin XGT Z4 and the Dunlop SP9000 Sport. Sizes will be 245/40-18 front and 285/35-18 rear. The car also has the Dinan Stage III suspension installed.

Does anyone have any experience with either of these tires? It should be considered that I rarely, if ever drive the car in the rain. The only exception being the accidental day where you get caught off guard. I live in San Diego and the chance of any severe winter weather is nearly nil.

I am sure that both tires are great, but any input from the board is appreciated.

Thanks

GregT
