I'm new to the board and don't own an 8 yet. Yep, I'm one of the people who look longing at them, but haven't taken the plunge due to "rumors" about horrific maintenance costs. After reading many of the posts here, I believe I'll make plans to purchase one. I'm very impressed with the love you guys have for this car. We own 4 bmws now and I may have to sell one of them in order to avoid being commited to a mental hospital by my wife, but I feel very strongly now that I need to own an 8 series. I enjoyed reading all your tips and suggestions and feel much more confident now about what to look for. Wish me luck!
